Hi Everyone,

 

I have just joined your community here. I am a recruiter in the Environmental/Chemical Engineering field and have positions available from time to time in the Consulting arena. I am hoping to get to know a few of you and hopefully make some strong contacts that are mutually beneficial. I have the following position open right now:

 

Position Title: Senior Environmental Consultant

Relocation: Yes

Location: Ankara, Turkey

 

Senior Environmental Consultant

 

Company is an international firm of specialist consultants who focus mainly on the mining industry.

 

They are seeking a senior level specialist for a position in their Ankara, Turkey office. The successful candidate will have:

 

.        Bachelor's qualification in geology, geochemistry, environmental engineering or sciences. A post secondary qualification will be an advantage.

.        Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental assessment of mining facilities. Experience with IFC Environmental Performance Standards, as well as other international environmental benchmarks is preferred.

.        Demonstrated leadership and project management experience

.        Good knowledge in the use of MS Office is necessary. Experience with other scientific software (numerical models) is desirable.

.        Good written and oral skills in English. Turkish language skills will be an advantage but is not mandatory.

 

The successful candidate will manage and undertake studies related primarily to the mining industry, including:

 

.        Environmental site assessments

.        Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA)

.        Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMP)

.        Compliance/performance audits, and due-diligence studies

.        Compliance studies for operation, reclamation and closure of mine sites

 

In addition to the technical issues, the successful candidate will be expected to assist in client relationships and work in a team environment. This position requires strong networking and communications skills, and sound interpersonal capabilities are therefore essential.

Bottom Line:

 

1.  Bachelor's Degree in geology, geochemistry, environmental engineering or sciences (Advanced Degree is a plus).

2.  10 + years of experience in environmental assessment of mining facilities.

3.  Experience with IFC Environmental Performance Standards, as well asother international environmental benchmarks.

4.  Demonstrated leadership and project management experience

 

 

I don't frequently have positions like this one. It is an excellent opportunity for someone that is mobile and ready for an incredible life (and career) experience. Not for the faint-hearted.  :o)

Conducted IAQs and written many reports with all the standard compliance recommendations. Written various variances for asbestos industry to cut cost the contractors expenses. Performed sound level tests using various instruments and recommended various industrial and public buildings, based on OSHA regulations. Recommended NY-DEP, title 15 sampling locations for roofing projects. I was the first person to be approved for New York State Mobile Laboratory for Asbestos analysis for PCM.

Geologist and Technical Co-coordinator (DANIDA)

I have investigated more than 800 bore wells for drinking and agricultural purposes by using geophysical and geo-hydrological methods. The data so obtained by geophysical methods are fed to computer for the interpretation of the layers and locate fissures, joints, and fractures based on the anomalies. I used to use the master curves for layers. We also use the satellite remote sensing methods to find water bodies and lithology of the site. I have also investigated through geophysical methods for airport and other construction sites. I have also done radial geophysical survey to obtain a 2-dimension view. I have also done 24 channel seismic survey, and VLFs to locate aquifer in dry terrines. I have done well logging while drilling and stratification is done based on the observation there by and recommendations are given to driller. I have also drilling experience with TH55 and other rigs. I was the first in Karnataka to drill deepest tube well on a hill for the water.

Thought many assistant Geologists, for Geo-physical investigation and its interpretations. I have thought how to read satellite maps. Thought water quality on site tests using UN and UNICIF standard.
